What Members Thought
This book is slighter than Solnit's other works and the essays it contains are drawn from other sources but all cover various feminist topics that Solnit has addressed over the years. Some essays are stronger than others, in particular I enjoyed Solnit talking about Woolf as she does so elegantly and intelligently. Solnit makes the connection between men patronizing or dismissing women in social and professional situations, ubiquitous violence against women, capitalism and colonialism in these essays. Some essays are better than others. There’s quite a bit of repetition.
The #yesallwomen essay at the end was extremely timely despite being written before Parkland shooting and #metoo.

This was really good. The more I read about feminism and its history, the more I see how much the world needs it.
