This is a really great book. Here are some of the passages I liked best:

This is the second time I've read through this book, and it will not be the last.
Jen Sincero is very positive, engaging, and proof that "this shit works" (her words, not mine.) If you've read her other works, you can identify which points of the book she's referring to when she talks about her own life. The narrative is real.
Content-wise, it's your standard self-help fare: think positively, have a plan, take action, and fake it til you make it.

I got through most of this. Just couldnt finish.
Plus: accessible CBT and funny.
Negative: its just rewritten CBT. Maybe I am the wrong audience.
Also, her she says that we stay stuck in some stories bc of benefits - true. However when she describes a depressed person she says we do it for attention or b/c we have an excuse not to be motivated, or can eat whatever we want etc. True in some cases. But in MANY cases its a chemical imbalance, or an environmental stressors. She talks about ways to co ...more
