Beautiful book! There's something appealing on an epistolary book, I think it has to do with the feeling we're prying into someone's life. In this book we pry into this Literary Society, born during the German Occupation. I've never read nothing about World War II and found it very well done, giving a interesting perspective of the occupation. It also has very vivid characters even if the letters don't differ that much in tone. They're full of life and hope.

This was a completely charming and delightful book. Entirely told through letters between a writer and her friends, it's the story of the the island of Guernsey, which was occupied by Germany during WW II, and the friendships the developed during and afterward. It's historical fiction with books, friendships, humor and a bit of romance - what's not to love?!

It took me a while to get into this book because of how it's just letters between different people, but I ended up loving it! It makes me want to have a pen pal or two!
