What Members Thought
Roy can be verbose and hyper-descriptive at times, but she makes you feel like you're in the story (or, more accurately, in the character's world). Her writing and attention to detail make everything seem dreamy (sometimes nightmarish), like heightened reality. It's appropriate and useful given that she is narrating a story about children, for whom the world can seem exceptionally big, exciting, and terrifying.
