Azar Nafisi is a talented writer and I enjoyed her writing about the Iranian Revolution. But, for me to truly enjoy the book I need to re-read many of the books discussed, as I realized I was missing deeper points because I hadn't read Jane Austen in years. Ergo, this books goes back on the "to read" shelf for a bit.

I never had any interest in reading this book until it was given to me a few months ago. It's famous, everyone's heard of it, but it just didn't peak my interest. I liked it more than I expected and, though a light easy read, it had a nice balance of literary criticism and Iranian culture information.
