The last one of John Green's books for me to read. I cannot decide if I liked it better than Looking for Alaska or not, but I think it is one of the top two for me. Possibly because no one dies. Or possibly because it's about leaving, with which I am so familiar.

So very similar to Looking for Alaska. I like how he writes about friendship, but am starting to feel that the author had it bad for some unattainable bad girl in high school.

This was quite simply a fun book. I loved the deconstruction of the Magic Pixie Dream Girl trope, loved Quentin and his odd mix of confidence and reticence, loved the friendship between Quentin, Radar, and Ben (and Lacey). I'm looking forward to reading more John Green. ...more

John Green gets adolescents. I was not sure what I wanted from the ending, but this one was not it.

My first John Green, and I totally understand his popularity with the teen audience. His character's voices are authentic, and the issues they are dealing with real without being overdone and trite. This book certainly kept me guessing until the end and I appreciated that it was a teen novel about travel that did not reference Kerouac, Whitman was a much better choice. ...more

This book drew me in quickly with intriguing characters and the mystery of Margo. I had fun following her clues and seeing the characters develop. I appreciated the concept of paper towns and paper people who aren't what you expect. For me, the ending didn't hold my attention as much as the first half. ...more
