I LOVE THIS BOOK I LOVE THIS BOOK I LOVE THIS BOOK. That said, I can see why others might not love this book. What spoke to me was her belief that creativity is a type of magic.
Other highlights:
-When people ask if they love earth, they say yes. When they are asked if they think earth loves them, they often say no. Our relationship with creativity is reciprocal. If we love it, it will love us.

Meh. Some of it was sort of useful advice that could be applied to any career or project, and I appreciated the sections on persistence and fear, but I agree with my friend Lindsey that parts of the book sounded very privileged to me, which is not surprising, I guess, given Gilbert's background. I also sort of couldn't believe any publisher would let her write a nonfiction book like this with absolutely no research, just her own musings. ...more
