My first reread in 20 (gasp) years. The book is now 50 years old itself. With its analysis of how elites use media, propaganda and myth to protect their economic interests; how social movements get co-opted; and how traditional education models repress critical thinking; it is more relevant than ever.

An essential read for all the teachers out there freedom dreaming and boning up on culturally responsive teaching practices this summer.

Hugely influential for me as a student and now I have students in my classes read excerpts. Still worth it to read and re-read.
