Oh. Just Oh. This book is mindblowing. And effing psycho. And incredibly awesome. Just read it. You'll see what I mean. This is not even close to my genre, but so glad I took the leap. Crazygood.

Just quote after quote of smart, impressive dialogue (be it internal or not). I like that she doesn't feel tied to the words remaining as a single part of speech - let verbs be adjectives, let adverbs be verbs..

If I liked the writing and the psychological portrait of the characters, there where parts in which some choices seemed out of character and were just to get the story on some twists and turns that helped to reach a kind of cheap ending. So I guess it's like a 3,5.

As I said, the psychological portrait was probably the best thing of the entire book, even if we're dealing with psycho and sociopaths. However, I could relate to Nick and Amy's problems and insecurities, ...more

Shelves: thriller

By the end of the book, did I like any of the characters? No. Did I like them at the beginning? Yes. Definitely an emotional see-saw as far as the characters are concerned. I found myself switching allegiance from one person to another virtually from chapter to chapter. But this was all extremely well done, and for that reason I consider this an excellent read

Phew - this one messes with your head skillfully, but the characters are so unlikable, I felt a bit more irritable than usual when thinking about the story.
