i love talking and reading about menstruation and strong women, so this was a perfect book for me. even though it's fiction, i often think of it as part of the bible, which some actually believe is fiction, so really the red tent could be truth.

its a good read - but i can see it being offensive with the liberties it takes with the old testament. i had to take it just as a novel, which it is, and not a biblical accounting.
A full beautiful text, with tangible fleshy words. It was one of those books that helped me to re-align myself, my beliefs, my moods, my thoughts, my worth.
great story about women's lives back in the day, really well written and engaging
