Buku ini mungkin agak sulit untuk dibaca sampai tuntas, karena beberapa hal: (1) gaya penceritaannya yang membingungkan seperti puzzle, bolak-balik antara kejadian nyata dengan dongeng yang dikisahkan Nenek kepada Elsa; (2) setting dan istilah-istilah yang tidak familier (buku ini ditulis oleh orang Swedia dan Elsa adalah anak 7 tahun yang amat sangat cerdas); (3) tokohnya yang banyak dan semua diceritakan dengan kedalaman.

LOVED this book.
This book has so much going for it. Mysteries, fairy tales, precocious children, monsters and dragons, nemeses who turn out to have hearts after all, a slobbery dog, Harry Potter references....it's all there. I laughed, I cried, I sobbed.

well that was a trip
realized today that my book club meets tomorrow and i'd completely forgotten so i spent the past four hours powering my way through this book
i quite liked it! but i'm a huge sucker for stories within stories, like i saw a few reviews were a bit ehh on all the miamas stuff but that was my jam, give me all the personally significant fairytales
tho i gotta say speaking as a formerly precocious seven year old myself, elsa did not read as seven...at all...
