I just finished this, was looking at the list of awards for the book, was curious why one of the awards was rescinded in 2018, and now know that earlier this year, a whole bunch of allegations of sexual misconduct came out against Sherman Alexie. C'mon. Why can't men stop being assholes?!
(There's a great line that I highlighted in this book: "The world is only broken into two tribes: The people who are assholes and the people who are not.")

I just read this recently for a SEED course and it blew me away. It is a book that will open your eyes and your heart for the little boy and the lives of Native Americans.
Sometimes YA books are the most clever about nuance of theme
