There are many reviews written about the Goldfinch. Some praise and some criticize. I will say that i enjoy reading a long novel especially a well written one. Some of the words used to write this novel are beautiful and well scripted. Some of the words are overly boringly descriptive.

what a wonderful story with memorable, complex characters. I loved this novel--what a fantastic escape! I was sucked in from the beginning. and the meditations on loss and grief and healing are just wonderful. I really enjoy her writing, and this novel gave me a lot to think about and reflect on. I loved the character of Hobie and appreciated his views on things, and Boris cracked me up. I also just loved how the story fit together. it seems like the people who didn't enjoy it prefer other genre

Well I finally finished this one. I enjoyed the art talk, learning a bit about the painting and such, but I think the book was a tad bit winded and could have been done in less than 773 pages. Theo got on my nerves at times and the drug issues got to me. Overall, it was an okay book and I'm happy to have read it.
