Wow!! I'm wrecked. I'm a hospice RN and deal with death and dying every day but this eviscerated me! There is a reason I deal with adults and not children. I knew going in that this was going to be a difficult read; what I didn't expect was how funny it would be. These kids are SMART and really funny. I fell madly in love with Augustus: his brain and his heart. I am, overall, not much for young adult fiction but I really enjoyed this book and author. Very, very well written. This book soared and yet it sunk to the depths of sadness. A young adult book about a teenage girl and boy who meet at a cancer support group. This is their story with all of it's raw real emotion and pain written in a manner sure to appeal to readers of all ages. We follow Hazel Grace and Augustus Waters to Holland on their "wish trip" to meet the author of one of Hazel's favorite books. The story rings true, the time is short and the ending unexpected.
