This is so hard to rate. I liked the book a lot! But I also felt that this book was 100% not written for me, which made it hard to freely enjoy.
That is the appeal though, to read a different perspective on culture! Some parts, like when Nella described the diversity meetings at work, made me cringe so much, because I’ve been in those meetings. The white reactions/wokeness was portrayed perfectly- and I won’t exclude myself from that. All it shows is that there is a lot of work to do.
