A light read, the book is about a whimsical, hundred-year old's misadventures in the present along with a crash course in history. While it started as an amusing story, I found it really hard to connect with the protagonist as I went along and not just because it seemed too farcical (the author makes it look like dining with American presidents and Russian dictators, eating noodles with Mao and detonating bombs in the backyard are all in a day's work), but because Allan for some reason doesn't s
