This book could be chaotic at times but I think that was addressed in how the author said he wrote it. Terrifying and enthralling, it made me never want to even attempt to climb Everest (not that I did in the first place) Constant footnotes and notations made for it to be a little disjointed at time, but overall informative and very enjoyable
While reading this very interesting book,I realized that there was so much about Mount Everest that I did not know about. I found myself frequently googling different facts about the mountain. And then it dawned on me, when this book was written, there was so much less technology available to the mountain climbers. It astounded me that someone would pay $65,000 to climb this mountain, knowing that there was poor communication to the outside world, unreliable medical help, insufficient oxygen sup
