3.5, unexpectedly difficult to follow, especially in the beginning half. The second half is much stronger and definitely delivers more of the macabre. Some flowery language aside, this is a super successful slow burn kind of psychological book. Niles and Holland, Holland and Niles … or just Niles? Just Holland? Haunting.
