After reading all the Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich I decided to pick up this romance novel by Janet. It was actually pretty good. The story is set in 1894 America when apparently women of wealth were stuck in arranged marriages--yes here in America. So Caroline Maxwell is daughter to an insistent mother, busy arranging a wedding to an English Duke to be.

It was a quick read. I didn't care for the ending. I felt like it ended too abruptly. Made me feel like Janet had hit her quota for number of words or pages and slighted the ending. ...more

I love J.E. books! This one was a little harder for me to get into. Didn't catch me on the first couple of pages. But once I got past the first chapter it picked up. Great read! ...more
