What Members Thought

Gave me a new perspective on the "black lives matter" movement, and the struggle for racial equality in this country. A well written debut novel that takes you right into the neighborhood of "Garden Heights" and the people that live there. I also appreciated how Angie Thomas set her main character, Starr, in a predominantly white suburban school, and showed her struggle to "fit in" with her classmates, yet remain true to her roots and the folks in her own neighborhood.
