This book is good in that the last 15% of the book is interesting. The first 45% dragged and could've been cut down considerably. The plot, once actually established, is good and makes me want to read the next book, but there is so much unnecessary description and world building that it bogs down the plot. This would've been a two-star rating if not for the last 5% of the book.
