What Members Thought
I've read most of Fitzgerald's novels and a few of his short stories. This is not one of my favorites. My top Fitzgerald is "This Side of Paradise". I think "Beautiful" suffers from its detached third person narration. In "Gatsby" we have Nick to guide us through Gatsby's strange and exciting world. We have no such person in this one. But there are still some great quotes. When Anthony first meets Gloria, he's worried that she will think less of him because he doesn't have a vocation. She says:
