I finally got around to reading this bestselling memoir, and I can understand the buzz behind it!

Really interesting memoir, and well written. At times, this memoir was truly painful to read. Growing up in an isolated, fundamentalist Mormon home, Tara Westover struggles to find her sense of self in an atmosphere that is controlled, bizarre, and at times - frightening. Astonishing piece of writing about a completely unbelievable upbringing. Westover is a remarkable storyteller who paints such a vivid, horrifically real picture of her life so far. This is one of those books that will sit with me for quite a long time after finishing it.
