I don't know why I thought this was historical fiction when I picked it up, but I was glad to quickly find out that it is nonfiction about Antonina and Jan in real life. I thought from the description that the book would focus more on the Jews hiding in cages, when the author focused more on the "guests" that lived in the villa and only mentioned the others in empty zoo buildings (as opposed to cages) when someone was going to feed them.
