I'd rate this one more of a 3.5/5. I thought this was a super quick read that kept me engaged and interested throughout. The suspense and mystery were very intriguing! Got to love those crazy characters. ...more

This book is odd. It's suspenseful and interesting, and the main character is so intriguing, but it is also missing something. If I weren't trapped on a plane while I was reading it I think I would have lost motivation to read it. The strongest part of this book is the character development. I felt like I got way inside Jule's head while still not knowing so much about her. We get only glimpses into her past and what made her become the person she is. When the novel opens, the main character, Jule, is on the run from the law, and basically trapped in her hotel room. Lockhart then takes the reader backward in time to show how Jule came to be in that predicament, and what a tangled tale it is. It's a tale of stolen identity, lies, and murder. It's also the tale of a young woman determined to make herself strong, smart, and unable to be dominated. It's suspenseful and creepy.
