Liked the book, but there were a few elements I did not love. One - ending was unrealistic. Not going to be a spoiler, but I found it over the top. Two - I did not enjoy Charlie's story nearly as much as Eve's. I got really tired of hearing Charlie's pregnancy referred to as "The Little Problem". It just bugged me for whatever reason. I really liked that this dual timeline was WWI and WWII, rather than one of those wars with a generation or two later. It really emphasized to me how close those were together and how their impacts rippled across the same people and families. Its amazing what some women went through during both wars to protect their homes and their families, and I'm not sure that I could have made such brave choices if I were in their shoes.
