This was a Forever YA book club choice, and I am so glad it was because I never would have read it otherwise... and I LOVED IT! Scythe is the first in a dystopian series set in a world with no death, disease, hunger, or real pain. That means people could live forever, but in order to keep the population under control, there are designated "scythes." These people are chosen to end other's lives as they see fit. Very Hunger Games-esque
Really a solid YA story with an interesting premise. I'm undecided if I will continue the trilogy and wonder if it will fall too much into a romance driven plot. I do recommend it as a quick and satisfying read. ...more

Best book I've read in a while! The world building was complex but close enough to our current world to make it feel plausible. Really makes you think about our current society's structure & technology in some interesting ways. Loved it and can't wait for my holds to come in on the rest of the series.
