A very interesting look at not only the women who served as "human computers" and later as engineers, but also the early days of JPL and NASA. I was surprised to see how laid back the work culture was but also that they made an effort to hire women even back in the 1950's and 60's. During the first half of the book it was a little difficult to keep track of who was who since the author kept jumping back and forth between the experiences of different women, but once you figured out who the main "
