I’ve been in a reading slump and I’m ashamed to say this took me a month to read! But it was excellent and very eye opening, so timely with what is going on in the world. Ruth, a black nurse in an affluent white neighborhood hospital has to constantly be aware and making up for the fact that she is black. Great story and great writing. Great book club discussion. -“If you can’t do great things, do small things in a great way”. -Martin Luther King

Jodi Picoult always amazes me with her subject matter for her books. One of my favorites was Nineteen Minutes about a school shooting. This is right up there with that one, timely and gut wrenching. I could not put it down and highly recommend it. Everyone should read this.
