There is a witch in the woods. Every year, the youngest baby in the Protectorate is left in the woods, because the Elders in the Council say that's the only way to appease the witch. In truth, the witch saves the babies, feeds them starlight, and takes them to the Free Cities, where they are adopted and loved. I'm sorry. I just didn't love it. Luna's magic, hidden magic, magic reveal - it all just got almost repetitious with Xan trying to hide it from her, and Luna trying to figure out what it was. It got on my nerves.
