Pearl and Stasha are twin adolescent girls who are sent to Auschwitz with their mother and grandfather. They are separated from their family members and there they catch the eye of the infamous Dr. Josef Mengele. The girls try to survive.and recount their story of separation in detail. I listened to the book, as narrated by Vanessa Johnson. Her narration and the story are heartbreaking and intense.
