Read this as a book club discussion, and we skyped with one of the authors, Stephanie Dray.
It took me awhile to get vested, but once I was hooked the reading went quickly! I really appreciate the research the authors did (18,000 letters people!) to develop their characters and storyline. It makes you pause to consider how women, even famous women - were treated, along with slaves in this country. Thomas Jefferson is portrayed as a human being, not a one dimensional founding father.
