I thought this was a great retelling of the Arabian Nights. At first I was a little disappointed that more of the nightly stories weren't included, but I really like the direction the author chose to take the rest of the story and how she pulled the relationship out of the background and into the main plot. I also thought that the love triangle was surprisingly well done, especially as a YA novel. This book was absolutely beautiful. Renee Ahdieh has a way with words and descriptive imagery that creates such a gorgeous picture of her setting and characters.

And now on to the sequel! So glad I have it waiting for me because I CAN'T EVEN DEAL WITH THAT ENDING OHMYGOODNESS ...more
