This book was slow to start, and I half wanted to give up on it because it seemed like it was just trying to be another Gone Girl or The Girl on the Train. And in some ways, it was. But in many ways, it was even better. The twist at the end felt much more satisfying to me than The Girl on the Train's. I felt like the author created a better narrator/main character. A British thriller, and psychological murder mystery. Like the recent "Girl on the Train". Told in two different points of view from the same character - Nora, a reclusive writer who is invited to a "hen" party for a former schoolmate. Viewpoint one is present, in the hospital, trying to remember. Viewpoint two is the events leading to the party, the party itself, and then the murder.

A perfect read for a rainy October day. It's atmospheric, suspenseful and full of twists and turns. Highly recommended.
