What Members Thought
I really enjoyed this book. I'm not normally into stories about the 1960's, but I loved the multi-perspective narrative and interactions of a small town. Some parts were heartbreaking, some were funny, some seemed a bit extreme, and others were predictable, but this is definitely a story that will remain on my mind for a long time. The fact that people were willing to risk everything to share their stories was really powerful, and I think an important part of making changes throughout history.

Great! Wonderful! Engaging! Moving! Insightful! Challenging! At times, it was a bit self-concious, but not enough to deter me from giving it high praise.
Good.
I liked Skeeter and Aibileen and Minny. Hilly - wow, she was vicious!
But I think Mae Moebley took the book for me. I loved her and cried for her.
Overall, a good read.

About 1/3 of the way through - very interesting book. Enjoying the perspective of the three main characters.
