A pretty quick read, but left me wondering about what really happened to Lucy Barton? Why was she locked in the truck? what was the snake? was she sexually abused? I'm not really sure. She certainly had an odd relationship with her mother, and her spouse. Interesting, but left me asking more questions than were answered. ...more

I was disappointed by this because I think Olive Kitteridge was excellent. I think the author is masterful, I just wasn't impressed by the character whose thoughts she created and transcribed. Lucy seems dull and not worth following around for an entire book. The character had no inner fire. ...more
