Very good middle grade novel - I enjoyed these characters, and the storylines woven by Rebecca Stead. My favorite part was the banter Bridge and her brother had concerning Hermie the elf and Rudolf - sweet and funny. My only problem is I had a hard time keeping the characters straight in the beginning when a new "nameless" character was introduced - eventually everything fits together, but I had to keep flipping back and forth until I realized a second set of characters were being introduced. A sweet story of the changing friendships and relationships in middle school.

A quiet, realistic read about a girl with my name! (And she wears cat ears, which I myself have been partial to!) I really enjoyed how the relationship between her and her male friend developed. It was really genuine. The pace seems a bit slow for middle grade, and I noticed it was often on the shelf at the middle school I worked at, unlike Stead's "When You Find Me". But it's still a good bet for girls who already enjoying reading, and a perfect pick for mother/daughter book clubs. ...more
