There are only a few books I’ve encountered in my reading life that have left that kind of mark on me, and I am always surprised when a new one gets added to that category. The Book of Speculation is one of those unexpected gifts.

I read this book for a book club at my school, and I have to admit that when I first picked it up, it sounded pretty strange. I wasn't sure if I'd like it or not because it might be just too weird and out there. While it definitely was not a normal book, it wasn't at all strange in a bad way. This was weird, even for me. I finished, but just could not care too much about the lead character, Simon, despite the fact that he was also a librarian.
