I loved Love in The Time of Cholera, but for some reason, I really struggled with this one. There is absolutely no question that Garcia Marquez is a master writer. His prose is breathtaking. But I couldn't relate in any way to any of the characters, and I often find myself confused by who was who because of the family's habit of naming everyone slightly different variations of the same two names.
