I liked the voice of the narrator.
This is a book that rather shouts out, "read me in a book club" or "read me in high school English class", so you can follow up with Meaningful Discussions about the symbolism of color and the experience of the everyman caught up in events.

Hugely impacting. Beautiful and amazing and disquieting and heart wrenching. Unforgettable characters. An unusual and superlative narrator. Unique. Wonderful. Read it!
This is a heartwrenching story, but a memorable one. One of the best "teen" books I have ever read!
