I am really not sure I can say I liked this book. It is brutal, painful, disturbing and the list goes on. But I am glad I read it. It actually somewhat reminds me of Sherman Alexie's portrayals of reservation life. But Sherman throws in a humorous zinger to further make his point every so often. It also forcefully brought to mind a 17 year old Native foster child who lived with us for a year, then kept in touch sporadically after she left until her death at age 40 from drug and alcohol abuse com ...more
