What Members Thought

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.
Cleverly plotted - a superior thriller!
Thriller books in the ilk of Girl on the Train etc. aren't usually my bag, but this book was getting such solid reviews, I felt compelled to give it a go, and I'm glad I did!

The Woman in the Window is a psychological thriller.
The narrator is Dr. Anna Fox (she is in her late 30s, story told in first person POV).
Anna has been unable to leave her home for the last 10 months. She is a child psychologist who now suffers from agoraphobia.
Since she cannot leave her home she spends her time on the internet, watching black & white films, and playing chess. However her most interesting pastime is spying on her neighbors.

I am giving this book 5 stars because it really was a good book, a book that kept me wanting to keep picking it up to find out what happened. It also kept me guessing different scenarios as to what happened, it was very very good........I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good mystery......I felt it was easy to read and to follow and held my interest throughout...... The ending was great too......

Um….
Okay but….
And then….
I’m not even sure what to say? But of course, I’ll try and keep it spoiler free – I’ve just finished this book and I’m not even sure how to process what I read?
Okay, let’s start on the positive aspects – because it was good, I must say:
– I liked how the author set out the book, giving us dates of each chapters, I felt like it was a super personable and unique way of storytelling, pun incoming, but I feel like it gave the reader a window into her life, her coping m ...more

I didn’t dislike this book at all I just thought it was very predictable and I wasn’t surprised at all. I liked the writer’s style of luring you into the story, but once I was pulled into the story it just seemed to be stale & boring same old, same old classic thriller movie script. Let’s make you think it’s every character in the story until the twist is revealed at the very end.
I did enjoy the physiological what’s real? and what’s not? aspect of the storyline that was fresh and new. I don’t r ...more

I just couldn't finish the book. I would put it down and forget about it and never pick it up. it's so boring and I just couldn't connect with the characters. maybe some other time when I'm in the right mood, I'll pick it up again. otherwise, I had to put the book down.
