It had some very good parts but was filled with lots of "phrases" that just didn't work for me - as in they were slightly too pinterest. I really think it could've been five stars if it had just been the longer poems (some short ones were good too, and some long ones I wasn't taken aback by either). The illustrations were nice too.

So here's the thing about poetry: it either hits or it doesn't. I think this is the case for Yeats, for Byron, for Plath, and it's most certainly the case for Kaur. Some of the poems are incredible, some of them fall flat for me. That being said, the ones that affected me were brilliant enough to bring this to four stars.
