Good stuff here. I loved Rohr's idea about "enlightenment at gunpoint" versus enjoying God earlier in life. Reading this book affirmed for me that Jesus and the Twelve Steps are saying the same thing -- namely, that we need come to limits of our own air supply before we will reach for a better tank of oxygen. He says we "were made to breathe the Air that always surrounds us, feeds us, and fills us. Some call it God." Rohr calls it breathing underwater.
