Once again, I am a bit torn regarding this book’s rating: Sadie could be a 4 star rating because it was, over all, interesting, entertaining and dealt with a lot of heavy stuff that actually made you think, but it also could be a 3.5 star rating because it was good, but I didn’t enjoy much the author’s narrative nor writing style. Holy shit. This was dark af. ¿Es fuerte? Sí. ¿Lo recomiendo? También. Pero no sean como yo, prepárense psicológicamente, porque es una historia que agota la mente y el alma, por el contenido que tiene.
Una historia dificil de leer, escrita en una forma que hace imposible que no ames a Sadie... y que te duela todo lo que le ha sucedido. Sadie es una jovencita que amaba a su hermana Mattie con todo su corazón y haría cualquier cosa por ella.

Sadie nos narra la historia de una chica desaparecida, una chica que se embarcó en la búsqueda del asesino de su hermana menor. Y al mismo tiempo Sadie es la historia de muchas chicas desaparecidas.

And it begins, as so many stories do, with a dead girl.
I'm speechless. This book drained me, emotionally and physically. It’s scary and dark and heart-wrenching and, what puts it all together, it's how realistic it is. You can hear it and feel it and your heart aches for these people because they feel real. Because the situation is real. You can also feel the deep pain and the incredible desperation in Sadie's journey, the need of it, and you can't see a happy ending either but you also have ...more
Wow!! I don't know what to say about this book. You've to know that Sadie's story is a Sad story but at the same time it's a beautiful story of love and sacrifice. This book should be a movie and if the actress is a good one and knows how to play the role of Sadie, she will get her an Oscar.

Me ha dolido mucho porque no dejo de imaginarme cuántas historias como ésta existen en el mundo, cuando chicas que han sufrido tanto y de las que no hemos escuchado sus historias, su dolor, sus sueños. Me desvío un poco del tema central; pero, durante todo el libro no dejaba de pensar en eso. En cuántas Maddies y Sadies hay en la vida real. Me enfurece y duele por partes iguales. Y el libro lo retrata tan bien: el mundo es un lugar horrible para las mujeres.
