Such a vivid description of many of the terrible things that happened during WWI narrated through the eyes of a 20 year-old german soldier and his classmates. A book to be read more than once. It´s not a book about war but an anti-war novel (very controversial on his publication and even banned during Nazi Germany) written in a beautiful and sometimes poetic prose. A must for everyone who´s interested in the subject.
