He de decir que se me ha hecho un poco pesado, sobre todo las descripciones. Es enrevesado y en algunos momentos, poco coherente.
Pese a todo, se deja leer, aunque sea a ratos.
Lo que creo es que me costará leer más libros de la autora.

Otra relectura de mis viejos favoritos, este fue especialmente interesante de recordar porque es el comienzo de muchos de mis temas-super-específicos favoritos: gótico moderno, relaciones entre hermanas y madres, amor por los libros (o libros sobre libros), es curioso pensar que leí esta historia y Las horas distantes el mismo año y fueron ellos los que han moldeado mucho de mi gusto literario como adulta.

So a famous writer hires a librarian to write her biography, a tale of twins and a fire that changed them.
The part where she tells of the story of the Angerfield family is interesting, the fact checking from the librarian too, the side story of Aurelius is nice, the ranting of the librarian about her missing twin and the mom feels tiresome.
The reveal at the end, it kind of breaks the dynamics of the twins she exposed so nicely before. It explains some things but break others

It's a great book, the author narrates in a very beautiful way, and the two stories that the book implies are intriguing and fascinating.
I think that the best way to read this book is in a slow motion, with the company of a good beverage (like tea or coffee), and a chocolate.
If you like reading a lot and enjoy books that implies another books, a good narration style and a mystery in the background, you'll enjoy this one. ...more

He tirado la toalla con este libro. Duré días en el primer capítulo, la historia no me atrapaba pero me decía 'vamos a esperar que la escritora empiece a contarle su historia a la protagonista, ahí seguro que comienza lo bueno'. Amigos lectores, llegué a esa parte y que decepción, la historia contada por Vida Winters tampoco me importaba.

No se si es un tema del estilo, la forma en la que está escrito el libro a veces me pierde, siento que es más estilo que sustancia. Por otro lado, la ...more
