I really enjoyed The Kite Runner and it made me realise how little I knew about the conflicts in Afghanistan in the last 50 years.

There are some hard parts in the book but, in a sense, it could have been so much worse. We don’t really see a lot of the impact of the invasion and fights in the country and the people. The main character, Amir, leaves Afghanistan after the Russian invasion, escaping from all the horrible things that his country is going to experience. However, I can ...more

4,75 Dos palabras: Brutalmente impactante. Estas palabras no las he usado jamás para definir un libro. En la página treinta, no obstante, tuve que parar deseando con todas mis fuerzas que lo que leía no le ocurriera jamás en la vida a alguien, peor a un niño. Con mi rostro empapado de lágrimas y mordiendo y abrazando una almohada, porque si me gusta leer para escapar de la realidad y no pare ver la realidad. Fue como si me hubiesen quitado una máscara.
