antes de la lectura
este libro tiene una portada un poco extraña. pero bonita. habia escuchado muchas cosas buenas pero estaba reacias a leerlo porque los libros de ángeles no son de mi tipo. he leido libros donde son mundos paranormales y cohabitan vampiros , hombres lobos y vampiros . ahi esta bien . pero especificamente de angeles no me he tomado la molestia. generalmente mi tema preferido son todos los vampiros . pero necesitaba una lectura ligerita y coincidia con la categoria para mi reto d antes de la lectura

durante la lectura
lo empecé a la 1 de la madrugada , lo acabé a las 4 am . lo sé es tan raro. cuando leo lo hago maximo hasta 2 am porque me vence el sueño pero ese dia no tenia nada y me sorprendi cuando acabé todo el libro en 3 horas . tuvo mucho que ver que fue estupendo.

no es todo como parece . me recordó un poco como " maze runner" , un mundo apocaliptico donde cierto sector tiene mas comodidades que otro y todos intenta sobrevivir como sea incluso algunos haciendo cosas denigrantes como ser humano. no estoy segura si me daba miedo o no .

la protagonista es una chica con habilidades enormes de supervivencia, sabiendo que sus padres las abandonó , su madre con enfermedad mental equizofrenia y su hermanita de 7 años que no puede caminar nada. ella tiene que luchar para que pueda vivir , conseguir alimentos , medicinas , protegerlas , huir y buscar caminos para todas.
pero un dia no puede , ve una pelea entre angeles ( los malos ) y ayuda a uno cogiendo su espada y lanzandole para que se defienda. en eso los otros angeles se lleva a su dulce hermanita.
dias despues el angel Raffe herido y ella caminan juntos para llegar el nido de angeles para que la prota vaya por su hermana y raffe pedir vengaza ya que le cortaron las allas haciendole parecer un simple DIOS SEXY humano.

el libro aunque trata temas muy fuertes a mi sensiblidad , tiene multiples toques de humor comos los gemelos que se parece a alicia en el pais de las maravillas. y también hay pequeños momentos de felicidad .

“Why would you think that? Even in your Bible, we’re harbingers of doom, willing and able to destroy entire cities. Just because we sometimes warned one or two of you beforehand doesn’t make us altruistic.”

Angels being the bad guys, humankind's evil enemy. Not the most innovate idea ever, but it was surprisingly well done... at least the little part that we actually get to see.

Angels being the bad guys, humankind's evil enemy. Not the most innovate idea ever, but it was surprisingly well done... at least the little part that we actually get to see.
Ever since the angel's attack, the world has sunk into chaos. We open up with 16 year old Penryn trying to take her family to a safe place, since their old apartment is sure to be attacked either by the many recent blooming street gangs or by night-time evil things.
Ee paints an extraordinary grim-ish picture (as grim as YA can be, of course) and, because that was not enough, gives Penryn the most depressing family she could have. Of course, this latter trait is obviously written to add to our heroin's personality.

Penryn is not the most charming character around, this cruel world where she lives in has made her selfish and uncaring for anyone but her little sister Paige (and, just sometimes, her mom). But who needs a charming lady when we have a total bad-ass! Seriously, those fighting scenes are SO well done!
Suddenly, something terrible happens and Paige and Penryn end up separated. Rescuing Paige becomes Penryn's only mission, and forcing a badly injured angel called Raffe to help seems to be the only way to succeed.
Aside from this two, the rest of the cast of character are really forgettable. Very unidimensional, appearing briefly just to fill a little into the plot. Some of them might be interesting, but I'll never know until book 2 or 3 where there might be some getting to know them.

The romance (yes, let's not be naive, of course there is romance) didn't seem quite believable. Our Penryn suffers from the very typical hormonal attack that good looking angels cause on leading ladies. Of course, as it's a first person narration, we don't really get to know what the angel is feeling for most of the time, which really works because it leads to a good heart wrenching scene at the end.

All in all, this books is a page turner. Good paced and a really light, fun read.

A dos años de haberlo leído, me estoy debatiendo internamente, no sé si debo bajarle estrellitas o dejarlo así, porque en su momento me gustó muchísimo, pero ahora que ya me paso el hype me doy cuenta que no es tan bueno como pensé, tiene muchos clichés y situaciones un pocos bobas. Lo cierto es que he disfrutado leyendo este libro. Me ha sorprendido la manera de ver la autora a los ángeles; más violentos y oscuros de lo que estamos acostumbrados. Y dado que las novelas que estoy escribiendo también tratan de ángeles, ha sido interesante ver que coincidimos en algunos aspectos. Eso sí, su lado oscuro es lo que más me ha impresionado.

Se lee rápido y atrapa su lectura lo malo que no tiene nada sobresaliente, es un libro más del montón con el apocalipsis de fondo, ninguno personaje me cautivó.
