Este es uno de esos libros que me ha decepcionado bastante. Esperé mucho más. La portada es hermosa. La sinopsis provoca. Pero es realmente aburrido.

El mayor problema que tuve fue la protagonista. Su actitud transciende lo tolerable. La autora quiso crear a una chica buena, pero con un corazón lleno de malicia, y no funcionó. Al menos para mí. Nyx fue bastante contradictoria desde el comienzo. Me aburrió con sus explicaciones al comienzo del libro. Eso hizo que el ritmo de la lectura no fuera tan ágil, y que terminara aburriéndome. Me hubiera gustado que tuviera una personalidad definida. Fue bastante molesto verla llorando por su familia después de que la habían tratado tan mal. Su padre no la quiere; la hizo casarse con el Señor Benévolo para que así ella pudiera asesinarlo y librar al reino de su maldad, sabiendo que eso era muy poco probable. No me puede gustar una protagonista que en un minuto está llorando por haber sido casada con un monstruo, y al otro está besándose con uno. Realmente no entendí la actitud de Nyx. Es cierto que cuando llegas a despreciar al personaje principal, pierdes el interés en la lectura.

No entiendo el punto de crear un triángulo amoroso. Shade me cayó mal desde que apareció. Simplemente no me daba buena espina. Con Ignifex fue algo un poco diferente. Me gustó su personaje. Pero pienso que hubiera sido mejor si la autora hubiera explotado más su lado malvado. Su encuentro con Nyx fue poco memorable. Me pareció bastante descuidado. La autora tuvo una gran chance para crear una relación de amor/odio, pero creo que la desperdició.

Otro aspecto negativo del libros, es que es un tanto aburrido. La constante búsqueda y exploración que realiza Nyx en todo el castillo, resulta tediosa. Entiendo que ella tratara de buscar Los Corazones de noséquécosa (realmente no recuerdo el nombre exacto), pero pienso que parte de ese tiempo pudo haber sido empleado en el desarrollo de la relación de Nyx con Ignifex. Eso es lo que pienso que carecía en el libro: desarrollo.

Este libro tenía potencial. Deberían haber sido aprovechada la historia sobre la bella y la bestia. Pero no sucedió así. Me voy completamente decepcionada. No les recomiendo este libro para nada. ...more

Tengo muchos sentimientos respecto a este libro. Por una parte creo que cumplió con mis expectativas, que eran altas porque digo, esa portada tan bonita es digna de una historia prometedora pero por otra parte no me llena lo suficiente como para colgarla entre mis favoritas.

Aún y todo Nyx es de mis personajes favoritos femeninos. Es genial leer a una mujer mala como protagonista y que no trate de hacerse la buena, sino que acepte eso como una extensión de si misma. Por supuesto que hay cosas bu ...more

Con lo de que está basado en la historia de La Bella y la Bestia ya me había ganado. Es mi cuento favorito, mucho más que el de Cenicienta. Además, la casa con sus misteriosas habitaciones me ha recordado a Alicia en el Pais de las Maravillas.

La historia es original y hay elementos que hacen recordar al cuento como la rosa presente en el anillo o la mujer de Los Bondadosos que recuerda a la bruja y, por supuesto, el príncipe convertido en una bestia, en este caso un demonio. Pero es un historia ...more

Shelves: beautiful-disaster, retelling, so-so-read

I had this book for a period of time but I never got the chance to read it, well until now and I wanted to give it a good rating because it's a retelling of my fav fairy tale "The Beauty and the Beast" and because of the Greek mythology that I'm so fond of but I'm giving it just 3/5 stars.

This book was starting very very well then it got boring and there were this stream of actions, situations and nonsense dialogues that the main character go through. It gave me a headache!

Though at first I find it a little bit boring, later I find myself lost in the story. This book was nothing as I thought it would be, but still I like it. I feel that the emotions of the characters were real.

Muy original a pesar que sea una historia basada en la bella y la bestia, pero aun asi es un libro fuera de lo comun.
